Building trust through innovation and governance reform.
The name B_Trust was chosen to reflect our main mission, which is to build trust in the community, because trust is an important element for achieving many important economic and social outcomes. The trust that we want to build includes public trust in institutions, trust between institutions, and trust among the public.
B_Trust was founded at the beginning of the post-reform era in Indonesia in 2001. This period began as an era of distrust of institutions which resulted in a decline in public involvement in the public sphere. On the other hand, government institutions were also surprised by the huge changes caused by sudden decentralization. Rebuilding public trust in government institutions requires efforts to change and reform existing institutions to be responsive and trustworthy.
A group of activists and experts have the joint power to create a new collaborative model in which non-governmental and governmental actors work together to overcome various public challenges from the new era together. As such, B_Trust was established as an advisory group that promoted pro-social idealism and professional competence.
We are proud to be able to create an impact with public sector clients throughout Indonesia through various efforts in improving public services, improving government performance, and improving regional development. We continue to work with visionary leaders and leaders in government to reform the public sector by utilizing innovation, participation and good governance.

Meet our team
Our team consists of experienced public policy professionals and consultants with relevant
expertise and educational background. They have deep knowledge on public policy and
government institutions as well as a breadth of geographical experiences in many districts,
cities, and provinces in Indonesia. Meet the innovative and dedicated individuals in our
team who are passionate to create meaningful changes in the Indonesian public sector and
society.
Dr. Ir. Siswanda H. Sumarto, MPM
Siswanda is the senior director in B_Trust. He graduated from Electrical Engineering,
Insititut Teknologi Bandung and received his Master of Public Management from Flinders
University, Australia. He received Doctoral Degree in Economics from Universitas Padjadjaran with dissertation: "The Impacts of Village Fund, Balancing Fund and Local Own-source Revenue towards Public Welfare". As a seasoned entrepreneur in various sectors and industries, he also
has extensive experience in strategic planning and business management.
Yuyu Komariyah, MA, PhD
Yuyu serves as a deputy director in B_Trust. She is a former civil servant in National
Administration Agency (LAN). She received her Master’s from University of Edinburgh and
her PhD from Flinders Univesity, Australia. Her PhD thesis is about capacity building in the
public sector. She has been highly accomplished in her role as project director of various
multi-year donor-funded projects.
Amirah Kaca
Kaca is the Executive Director at B_Trust. She started her career as an Enterprise IT
professional at IBM. She has also worked as a public sector consultant at the World Bank
Governance Practice. She studied Industrial Engineering from Institut Teknologi Bandung
and Master of Public Administration from London School of Economics (LSE). She is now pursuing her doctoral degree on Governance and Public Policy at Blavatnik School of Government, Oxford University, United Kingdom.
Mokh. Ikbal
Ikbal serves as a program manager in B_Trust. His educational background is Master of
Public Policy. With B_Trust, he has over 15 years of experience in leading projects,
managing team, and working with government clients. He has mentored and advised
governments on projects related to procurement, complaint handling, and business licensing
process.
Ajie Ginanjar Nugraha
serves as a co-program manager in B_Trust. He has more than 10 years of experience in co-
managing program, as well as mentoring and facilitating government clients. He graduated
from Faculty of Social and Political Science, Universitas Padjajaran (Unpad) and has
research experience with Center of Population and Policy Study in Universitas Gadjah Mada.
Eva Magdalena
Eva is a financial manager at B_Trust. She has 19 years of work experience in accounting
and corporate finance and she has been handling B_Trust's finance for 12 years. She received
her economics degree in accounting from University of Widyatama. Throughout her time in
B_Trust, she has also handled the project financial administration and management of various
multi-year programs.
Ruliana Darmawan
Ruli graduated from Universitas Padjajaran majoring in government science. He
joined B_Trust in 2013 and started assisting Kab, Wakatobi in establishing procurement service
unit and complaint handling system (2013-2015). He has delivered training and mentoring services
in many other local governments. Recently, he assisted Pemprov Sulawesi Selatan, Kota
Makassar, Pemprov Jawa Timur, Kota Surabaya dan Pemkot Bandung in implementing complaint
handling system SP4N-LAPOR! with USAID CEGAH.
Muhammad Rizal
Rizal graduated from Universitas Padjajaran majoring in government science. He
joined in B_Trust in 2012 assisting Kab. Purwakarta in establishing complaint handling system. He
also has assisted Kab. Wakatobi and Kota Kupang in establishing a procurement service unit and
a complaint handling unit from 2013-2016. He has delivered training and mentoring services in
many other local governments. Recently, he assisted Kalimantan Barat, Kota Pontianak, Sumatera
Utara, Kota Medan and Ministry of Health in implementing complaint handling system SP4NLAPOR!
with USAID CEGAH.
Ivan Nuerholis Majid
Ivan graduated from Universitas Pasundan (Unpas) Majoring in Science of Communication. He joined B-Trust in 2021 and assisted Kab. Berau, Kab. Bulungan, & Kab. Grobogan in Localizing SDGs to Planning Document in Regensies (2021 - Now). He was also the Provincial Support Partner for Assisted local NGO Kab. Tasikmalaya and Kab. Garut (2021 - Now). He also has designing content for publication program from women local parliament members in Indonesia (2021). He was also be Helpdesk for competition manage complaint handling for public service (2022).
Reza Ananda Saputra
Reza joined B_Trust in 2022 and assisted Kab. Majalengka, Kab. Ciamis, Kab. Cilacap, and Kab. Kuningan in Localizing SDGs to Planning Document in Regensies (2022 - Now). He was also the Provincial Support Partner for Assisted local NGO Kab. Bandung and Kab. Sukabumi (2022 - Now). He also has designing content for publication program from women local parliament members in

Senior Advisory Board
Ir. Hetifah Sjaifudian, MPP, PhD.
Hetifah Sjaifudian is on her third term as a national member of parliament and is now the Vice-Chair of Commission X in DPR RI. She graduated from urban and regional planning in Institut Teknologi Bandung, received her Masters of Public Policy from National University of Singapore, and received PhD in Politics and International Studies from Flinders University Australia. As B_Trust’s founder, she actively engaged in development of pro-poor and gender-based budgeting, enhancement of local economic development, and participatory urban and regional planning. She wrote a book titled “Innovation, Participation, and Good Governance: 20 Innovative & Participatory Initiatives in Indonesia”
Ir. Tjuk Kuswantojo (Alm)
Tjuk Kuswantoro is a distinguished urban planner, prominent lecturer in Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), and an activist dedicating himself to community based urban planning and development. He has written numerous books on the topic of urban planning and development.
